Film Afternoon
30 MAY 2008 next one end July 2008
1pm - 3.30pm
Tumbetin is proposing to hold a 'Film Afternoon' (or if successful a 'Film Evening') on the last Friday of each month at Tumbetin House, 10 Hughes Street, Upwey.
The films/documentaries shown will have some connection with spirit, psychic work and its many and varied manifestations (ie. The Mediumship of Gordon Higginson or the movie 'Ghost'). Following the film there will be a forum type 'questions and answers' session to discuss the film, followed by tea and coffee.
The purpose of this afternoon is to show and discuss the many aspects that our philosophy covers and overtime the session may evolve to include film suggestions from group members. This is a new venture so we are looking for 'expressions of interest' from those who would like to be involved, the proposed entry fee is $5.00.
Please email tumbetincentre@bigpond.com to register your interest or call Tumbetin on (03) 9754 7167.
Editorial On The Movie ‘Ghost’
Well the first film afternoon held the last Friday of March and whilst the numbers were down, the afternoon was enjoyed by all. It was a little unfortunate that Easter fell in the School Holidays making it difficult for many to come to the event.
Owing to the length of the film there was little time for discussion, and only one question was forthcoming. I will in future try to limit the whole meeting to a maximum of two hours, with at least 20-30 minutes allowed for questions and answers about the film or documentaries shown.
It is quite important that those wishing to attend do arrive at the stated time so that the showings can start on time thereby allowing those who have to leave at school times can see the whole presentation.
In conclusion the ‘film afternoon’ is envisaged to cover a wide range of spiritual matters and if any person has video’s, suggestions, etc please use the email provided or ring myself, or Tumbetin and your ideas will be taken on board and may even become part of the question and answer process.
